Projectize participates at the PMI® Global Congress 2011
Following last year's success of his seminar at the PMI® Global Congress 2010-EMEA in Milan, Italy; Omar Zein, partner at Projectize, has been re-invited by the Project Management Institute to speak at their Global Congress 2011-EMEA to be held in Dublin, Ireland between the 9th and 11 of May this year. The congress is an annual event organised by the PMI® to address the latest developments in the project management field. Omar's presentation will be titled "Business Change within Programmes: It's Not About Transition!" and addresses the various type of change that exist in programmes and in particular the "business change" that is a side-effect rather than a deliberate outcome and how it is best managed to ensure the programme's success. The White Paper provides a statistical overview and recent trends in the sector and identifies some of the key challenges faced by the Italian automotive parts and components manufacturers. Namely, the complex global resource management coupled with need for flexibility to change schedule at short notice on the basis of changes to their clients' related vehicle delivery milestones. Following an interview by “PM Network”, the PMI official magazine; Omar Zein of Projectize was quoted and referenced in the article: “Inside Track” which addresses career progression from project to program management. The article illustrates various opinions and suggestions from established professionals in the field. It also argues the pros and cons of promoting an internal project manager to the position of program manager rather that recruit externally. Omar who has previously written and lectured on the roles and responsibilities of the program manager, states in the article: “Whereas a project manager must be competent in various technical skills— managing and coordinating resources to achieve a product or service—a program manager must go further to understand how the outcome of the program will benefit the organizational strategy, and manage it from that very perspective” Mr. Zein says.
